We’ve heard a couple of Toronto’s Clairmont the Second’s tracks on Spotify playlists over the past couple of years but we never really digged deeper than that. This week we stumbled upon his new album ‘Do You Drive’ and damn are we impressed. He might be one of/ even our favourite up and coming Toronto Hip Hop artist at the moment.
His style and sound is a refreshing change from the typical Auto Tune Trap Rap that has come to dominate the genre (especially in Toronto). He clearly has influences from Kendrick, Outkast, Isaiah Rashad, Tyler the Creator, and many more quality Hip Hop artists. Hip Hop (my favourite genre) has been boring for me for the past year or two (tbh), and It’s exciting to hear an artist with a unique flow and complex beats finally.
