Electric Island Finale Recap

What a weekend. Perfect weather, great crowds and an overall amazing event. Here’s a brief recap of some of our favourite acts of the weekend and some tracks to go along with it.

Day 1 has to go to Bicep as expected, with the most interesting and diverse set of the day, we were captivated from start to finish. A perfect blend of techno and house, they provided a perfect set for the early afternoon. Second place definitely goes to Justin Martin, he consistently provides a super fun atmosphere for everyone to party to. No pretentious vibes, just good, bassy, fun music. Nicole Moudaber was decent but not our favourite, to finish it off Get Real played a great set to end the night, pretty much everything you’d expect from the duo. Unfortunately we missed toronto local Sean Miller, but from what we’ve heard he played a great set as well. Check out his new tune below. Here’s some of our favourite tracks we heard throughout the day.

To start things off on Day 2 was Fatima Yamaha. We’ve been waiting to see him perform for a long time, so this was quite the treat. Performing a live set, he had the perfect sound to start the day. However, our pick for day 2 has to be Dixon. The guy played a set that blew our expectations out of the water. The last time we saw him was 2-3 years ago and he played a downtempo slow set that was interesting but somewhat anti climatic. This time, he brought the fuckin heat. Starting things off super slow he took everyone on a journey moving into a more upbeat truly unique selection of music. Ame was really cool as well and performed a great melodic set, same with Guy J. And of course, Loco was dope as well, super high energy techno to finish the day off. Here’s our favourite tracks we heard throughout the day.

Although it’s come to an end, it ended off in proper fashion and we can’t wait for next season. See you next year on the island!
