Easy Life, a five-piece band hailing from Leicester, England, have set the bar insanely high with their debut single. An effortless mix of hip hop, funk, and jazz, “Pockets” is one of my favourite tracks at the moment.
When asked about the inspiration for the track, the band commented that it was “born out of the need to give a middle finger to those people who don’t believe in simplicity, and are only concerned with material wealth and all other vices that have made modern living that little bit less sweet. It essentially documents that terrible sinking feeling of realising you can’t quite afford to pay this month’s rent due to your own stupidity…”
Relatable. Shout out to those struggling to pay rent this month.
Stay tuned for their debut EP, set to be released in early 2018.
