On Sunday May 20th, Electric Island successfully kicked off their 2018 season. As per usual, tech-house was bangin out Hanlan’s Point all day with some beautiful weather and cold drinks to accompany it.

DJ Tennis had the best set of the day with Yokoo giving him a solid run for his money. They both came in hard with their distinctive styles. HOL was a little disappointed with headliner Black Coffee’s set. We were really hoping for him to incorporate some of his experimental sounds and afro-house roots into his set but instead, he just played the usual fare of tech-house. That being said, the crowd was thoroughly enjoying it. Despite the mixed feelings about Black Coffee, we still had an awesome time and would highly recommend anyone interested in techno or house music to check out the next Electric Island on July 1st.
