For our first featured artist post, we had to pick one of the most talented dudes in music right now, Sampha. We first caught wind of his music when we heard him singing on SBTRKT‘s self-titled debut album. At the time when we had SBTRKT in constant rotation, we had no idea who the singer was on his beats, but we knew we were already huge fans of his. At first we just assumed that Sampha was 1/2 of SBTRKT, but as time went on we saw his solo career flourish. It wasn’t until in 2013 when Sampha released his first single “Without” off his debut album Dual that we really started to pay attention to him. To this day we still rinse both albums Dual and SBTRKT when we want that chill vibe because we consider them to be electronic classics.

Fast forward a couple of years and Sampha has gotten the attention he deserves. He had a key part in Drakes “Nothing Was the Same” album and this week a leak with him and Kanye surfaced. We have been waiting for a new album from him for years now, hopefully 2016 is the year.
