We got to catch Joseph Capriati’s debut at Coda on his latest rip through Toronto Friday night. There was a healthy line growing behind us as we rolled up. We we’re cutting it close to missing list, but got through in time without much of a problem in the end.
Coda’s sound system never fails to surprise me a little bit every time I go. It always takes a good while for the ears get adjusted to the change in decibels.
Toronto’s DJ Addy was on the warm-up set, his experience as a DJ showed throughout his set. Capriati got on somewhere around 2:00 and smashed it up as expected without remorse. He carried the crowd and controlled the vibe right past 4AM.
Halloween falling the Monday this year made for a different experience than your regular night. Saw a few costumes walking around the room but the presence wasn’t overly noticeable. I did notice a few stranger things characters crawling around the club though.
