Glenn Astro has emerged as one of the most exciting names at the centre of a new underground micro-scene that is brewing in Berlin. The German producer is a student of hip hop, funk, soul and jazz, and uses that knowledge as inspiration in his own tracks, which range from jazz infused house to a more experimental sound, with a looseness and roughness that makes them immediately appealing.
Words like dusty and deep come to mind when listening to his music. This aesthetic has landed him on labels such as Apollo/R&S, Mule Musiq, and of course his own Money $ex Records, just to name a few. In 2016 he put out an excellent full-length album with label co-founder Max Graef on the legendary Ninja Tune, which took him in uncharted new directions. We couldn’t be more excited to hear what Glenn has in store for us!
